Seven new Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers in the Tulsa area mean more resources to arrest drunk drivers over the Labor Day holiday period. O-H-P Lt. George Brown says they’ll be participating in a national crackdown dubbed ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’.
Brown says a ‘no tolerance’ policy will be followed for anyone pulled over suspected of driving under the influence on this last holiday of the summer season.
Next to New Year’s Eve, St. Patrick’s Day is a major focus of law enforcement on the lookout for drunk drivers. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown says troopers will join other agencies in a crackdown on impaired drivers. Saturation patrols and bar checks will be part of the effort.
Brown says the Patrol is urging anyone with Holiday party plans to include a designated non-drinking driver in those plans.
