Tulsa, OK – More athletes declared ineligible at Tulsa school
TULSA, Okla. (AP) More than 40 students at Booker T. Washington High School have been declared athletically ineligible.
Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Keith Ballard said Wednesday the school's principal has been reassigned.
Last week, the district imposed sanctions against the school's athletic department after an internal investigation found that six student athletes were ineligible because of transfer and recruiting violations.
Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa Health Department will be utilizing their current supply of H1N1 vaccine to vaccinate children and faculty at local area schools. During school-based vaccinations, the vaccine is only available to children enrolled at the school and faculty. Okmulgee, OK – Okmulgee lands recycling center, 1,400 jobs
OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP) City officials in Okmulgee say a Florida-based waste recycling company will build a plant and bring about 1,400 jobs to the northeastern Oklahoma town.
Mayor Brian Priegel says Destin-based Waste Not Technologies will build an 800,000 square-foot office and manufacturing park on a 250-acre site. The mayor says construction is to begin by year's end and take about two years to complete.
Oklahoma City, OK – State prisons ask for swine flu vaccine
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State prison officials have asked for about 15,000 doses of swine flu vaccine but state health officials say none has been provided and there are no plans to do so yet.
Corrections Department spokesman Jerry Massie says one inmate arrived at a state prison with the H1N1 virus and is recovering in isolation. Massie says the inmates are at high risk because of their confinement.

Tulsa, OK – 18-of those 21-Tulsa Police officers given layoff notices last week are back to work. The city is using a federal grant to pay their salaries. Because they were re-hired with in a seven day period, Tulsa Police Captain Jonathan Brooks says the officers will receive full pay.
The city cut the officers because it lack the funds to pay them.
