Ponca City, OK – Home for children in Ponca City set to close
PONCA CITY, Okla. (AP) Supporters of the American Legion Children's Home in Ponca City are looking for a way to keep the home to 44 children open.
The Oklahoma American Legion's executive board voted last month to close the home on Dec. 31. Board President Art Besa issued a statement to The Oklahoman saying there are unspecified "financial constraints" and that board didn't feel the home is fulfilling its mission to house the children of military personnel.

Kelleyville, OK – Teen hurt, trailers damaged in Okla grass fires
KELLYVILLE, Okla. (AP) Authorities say a teenager sustained minor injuries and three mobile homes were damaged in grass fires in northeast Oklahoma, while a blaze near Interstate 44 in Oklahoma City affected traffic.
Crews were called beginning about 2 p.m Saturday to fires in Creek County.
Homeowner Terrell Copeland says he was outside when he noticed his mobile home was on fire, and ran inside to help his grandson's friend get out.
Oklahoma City, OK – Askins considering open Okla Supreme Court seat
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Lt. Gov. Jari Askins says she doesn't know if she'll apply for an open seat on the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
Askins, an attorney and former judge, told The Oklahoman on Friday she's still reviewing whether she meets residency requirements for the opening, which was created when Justice Marian Opala died last month.
