HOBART, Okla. (AP) For the first time in the history of Kiowa County, residents can saddle up to the bar and order a mixed drink.
The Longbranch Saloon in Hobart last week became the first establishment in the county to take advantage of a liquor-by-the-drink proposal approved by county voters last year. Fifty-four percent of voters approved the proposal in November's general election.

Oklahoma City, OK – Ten Commandments monument could be built in spring
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The director of the Department of Central Services says a Ten Commandments monument at the state Capitol could be built in the spring.
DCS director John Richard told the Capitol Preservation Commission on Thursday that one possible location is north of the Capitol and two others are on the southeast side. Richard is also a member of the Capitol Preservation Commission.
Oklahoma City, OK – Audit requested concerning OHP aircraft parts
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The state attorney general's office is asking for an audit concerning aircraft parts at the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
A letter requesting the audit was sent Thursday to state Auditor and Inspector Steve Burrage after Oklahoma County prosecutors asked for help in the matter. It asks for an investigation into possible theft or embezzlement of aircraft parts.
On August 19, 2009, a student from Wolf Creek Elementary was diagnosed with a strongly suspected case of the novel H1N1 influenza virus, called by many-swine flu.
The student is at home under doctor's care and won't return to school until symptom free. The Center for Disease Control reminds all that students diagnosed with swine flu or regular flu should remain at home avoiding contact with others until the child has been symptom free including no fever for 24 hours.
