Tulsa, OK – Dr. Oral Roberts, a legendary evangelist who rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most influential Christian leaders of the 20th century, died today in Newport Beach, Calif., due to complications from pneumonia. His son, Richard, and daughter, Roberta, were at his side. The founder of Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association and Oral Roberts University was 91.

Tulsa, OK – The giraffe that died at the Tulsa Zoo after suffering a broken neck in transit from Ohio, was expecting. That announcement came this morning at a Tulsa City Council meeting. The Council is looking into the giraffe's death. Tulsa Zoo director Terrie Correll said the pregnancy was discovered during a necropsy of the giraffe. The giraffe was having her neck X-rayed when she died.
Tulsa City Councilor Rick Westcott wants the council to take legal action against the transport company which brought the animal to Tulsa.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Televangelist Oral Roberts has been hospitalized after falling during the weekend.
A statement released Monday says Roberts fell on Saturday and is being treated for broken bones and a slight case of pneumonia. It says he's listed in stable condition at a hospital near his home in California.
Tulsa, Ok – On 09/27/09, officers responded to 6907 S. Trenton Avenue #804, to investigate the death of a small child. Kai'den Terry, male, 7 weeks old, DOB 08/09/09, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. Kai'den's mother, Dominique Lee, 18 yoa, originally told detectives that she did not know what happened to Kai'den, but did admit to co-sleeping with Kai'den. Kai'den had small minor bruising on his lower legs near the ankles, but otherwise did not have any obvious external injuries to suggest a cause of death.
Mangum, OK – Officials say gangs using cell phones in prison
MANGUM, Okla. (AP) Authorities say they believe gangs are smuggling cell phones to inmates in order to stay in contact while in prison.
Greer County Assistant District Attorney Eric Yarborough says he has seven pending homicide cases from inside the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite. He says each case can be traced back to a prison gang.
