Hole Closes Road

Tulsa, OK – Southbound US-75 closed at I-244 due to a hole.

Southbound US-75 is closed at the I-244 junction due to a hole discovered in the left lane. Due to recent rains, erosion of the side of a nearby concrete bridge drain is compromising the pavement in this area. Traffic is being detoured around this area using westbound I-244. There is no time estimate on repairs at this time. Drivers should avoid the area until further notice.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Two candidates have filed for congressional seats and another has formally entered the race to become Oklahoma's next attorney general on the second day of the state's three-day election filing period.

Perennial candidate Jim Rogers of Midwest City filed Tuesday as a Democrat to run for a U.S. Senate seat now held by Republican Tom Coburn. The 75-year-old Rogers joins three GOP candidates who filed Monday, including Coburn.

Oklahoma City, OK – Okla. governor signs workers' comp bills

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Gov. Brad Henry has signed legislation requiring Senate confirmation of his nominees to the Workers' Compensation Court that was similar to a measure he vetoed last year.

Henry signed the legislation on Tuesday along with a second bill involving workers' compensation. They are among four measures that supporters say will help reduce workers' compensation costs in the state.

Woodward, OK – 1 person burned in Okla. chemical fire

WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) Officials say one person was hurt when a flash fire erupted at a chemical plant near Woodward.

Woodward County Emergency Management Director Matt Lehenbauer says firefighters were called at 8:53 a.m. Tuesday about a fire at Deepwater Chemicals near the Woodward Airport.
