The Tulsa Symphony Offers "Inside Out!" and Living Arts of Tulsa Presents the eMerge Dance Festival

On this edition of ST, we're talking about two noteworthy cultural events happening in downtown Tulsa this weekend. First off, we discuss the final concert of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra's current season, "Inside Out!," which happens tomorrow night (Saturday the 12th) at 7:30pm at the Tulsa PAC. We speak with Kari Caldwell, the principal cellist and board president of the TSO, who'll be the featured soloist as the symphony performs "Don Quixote" by Strauss. Tulsa Ballet Does "Rooster" (A Tribute to Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones from Christopher Bruce)

Aired on Thursday, March 13th.

On this installment of ST, we welcome Christopher Bruce, the highly regarded British choreographer and dancer who served as Artistic Director of the Rambert Dance Company from 1994 until 2002. Bruce, whom London's Daily Telegraph once called "the Nureyev of contemporary ballet," was appointed Houston Ballet's Associate Choreographer in 1989, and this world-renowned company has served as his artistic home in America since then.

Tulsa Ballet Concludes Its Season with "Off the Floor: Creations in Studio K"

Today, we welcome back to our program Marcello Angelini, who's been the artistic director at Tulsa Ballet since 1995. As a critic writing for Dance Insider once noted: "To look at what Marcello Angelini has accomplished [since he arrived at] Tulsa Ballet is to see what a community-based arts revolution looks like." The glorious revolution continues with a new production --- the final show of the 2011-2012 season --- called "Off the Floor: Creations in Studio K," which will soon be staged at Tulsa Ballet's Studio K facility in Brookside (at 1212 East 45th Place South).
