He has just published a new book called "Unwritten Rules of Baseball: The Etiquette, Conventional Wisdom, and Axiomatic Codes of Our National Pastime." Baseball, of course, is all about rules . . . and stats, and records, and numbers, and so forth. He's written several plays and poetry collections, and has also worked as a screenwriter (on such major films as THE GODFATHER and THE DEERHUNTER).
