Women's Pro Basketball in Tulsa's Future?

Tulsa, OK – An announcement is expected tomorrow (Wednesday) as Tulsa attempts to get a WNBA franchise. Oklahoma City businessmen Bill Cameron and David Box are the two lead investors.

Cameron is an owner of the Oklahoma City Thunder, chairman and CEO of American Fidelity Assurance and chairman of First Fidelity Bank. Box is a concert promoter and owns the Greens Country Club in Oklahoma City.

There are 13-teams in the WNBA League with a national television contract with ESPN.

A news conference to announce the effort is set for Wednesday afternoon.
