Wildfire Disaster Center to Open in Creek County

Samatha Robbins

MANNFORD, Okla. (AP) — State and federal disaster officials say a disaster recovery center is to open in Mannford to help residents apply for aid as a result of wildfires earlier this month in Creek County.

Federal disaster aid was approved last week for residents who have uninsured or under-insured losses due to the fires that burned between Aug. 3 and Aug. 14.

The center opens at noon Monday in a building next to the public library in Mannford. It will be staffed by the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration and other agencies.

After Monday — the center will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon until 5 p.m. on Sundays.

It will remain open until further notice.
