US Airmen Scheduled for Return to Tinker AFB

US Air Force

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. (AP) — About 150 airmen with the 552nd Air Control Wing and the 513th Air Control Group are scheduled to return to Tinker Air Force Base.

The airmen are to arrive Sunday night after a six-month deployment to Southwest Asia where they supported military efforts in Afghanistan. Their exact time of arrival was not immediately known.

The Air Force says both units operate the E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft and provide all-weather surveillance and communications to U.S. and NATO air defense forces.
