Skiatook, OK – SKIATOOK, Okla. (AP) The Skiatook school board has suspended Superintendent Gary Johnson following a highly critical state audit.
The board voted 5-0 following a 90 minute executive session Tuesday night to suspend Johnson with pay indefinitely.
The suspension comes a week after a state audit said the district overpaid more than a half million dollars on for custodial supplies and security equipment. The audit said the district overpaid nearly $570,000 by buying through a middleman rather than buying directly.
Board members and Johnson declined after the meeting.
