Tulsa, OK – Tulsa District Attorney Tim Harris is the victim of a death threat. The threat appears to be connected to the prosecution in the murder for hire death of Tulsa businessman and former TU football star Neal Sweeney.
Apparently one of the suspects was attempting to get local gang members to carry out the hit, apparently to hinder prosecution in the Sweeney case.
Tulsa Police officers are investigating. Harris and his family are now under 24-hour protection.
Harris released the following statement: "I deeply appreciate the professionalism and expertise of the Tulsa Police Department in their efforts to insure my and my family's safety. This is an ongoing investigation and I cannot comment on its progress. We will cooperate fully in an effort to brings this to a successful conclusion. I also appreciate this community's prayers and support throughout this challenging time."
