Unemployment Rate Jump
Tulsa, OK – The unemployment rate in the multi-county Tulsa metro took a huge jump in October. In figures, released yesterday afternoon, the local rate jumped to 7.5 %. That is the highest rate in 20-years.
However, when you break out the numbers, the Tulsa County's solo rate also increased but not as much. It was 7.2% for October. John Carpenter with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission says that shows, at least some of, the adjacent counties to Tulsa saw a much higher unemployment rate increase than Tulsa County.
