Two Killed when Ski Boat Crashes on Grand Lake

LANGLEY, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say two people were killed after a ski boat crashed into a parked houseboat on a northeast Oklahoma lake.

The Grand River Dam Authority says the collision happened Tuesday afternoon on Grand Lake. Spokesman Justin Alberty says the ski boat was carrying eight people when it collided with the empty houseboat that was docked in Duck Creek.

Alberty says two people in the front of the ski boat were killed. Four others were taken to a hospital in Vinita.

GRDA Assistant General Manager Brian Edwards tells Tulsa television station KOTV that the ski boat was traveling fast, causing a "substantial, violent impact."
