Tulsa's Next Top Cop

By KWGS News

Tulsa, OK –

Mayor Dewey Bartlett announced today that following a thorough review of the two candidates interested in serving as Tulsa's next Chief of Police, the interview panel has decided to open the position to external applicants.

The Tulsa police chief position, which is currently filled by Interim Chief Chuck Jordan, will be posted online on the City of Tulsa's external job bulletin Monday morning, Oct. 25. The position will be posted for one week.

The internal applicants were interviewed this week by a panel including Mayor Bartlett; Carol Bush, executive director of the Tulsa Crime Commission; Rev. Weldon Tisdale, community leader; Personnel Director Erica Felix-Warwick and Mike Bunney, the Mayor's director of economic development. The panel will be engaged again to review external applications.

"Both applicants shared some good ideas during the interview. I appreciate their ambition and desire to serve Tulsa," Bartlett said.
