By KWGS News

Skiatook, OK – The Oklahoma Lake Patrol says Skiatook Lake has claimed the life of a 40-year-old Tulsa man. The Patrol says Verdell Schoats was at the Osage Park when he tried to swim across the lake. Officials say he was about 25-yards away from shore when he started to struggle in the water. Family members tried to rescue him, but when the reached him, Schoats went under and did not resurface.

His body was recovered two hours later after the patrol search the lake by the dragging method.
