TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa police have released the name of the officer who shot and killed a man who allegedly broke into a woman's home and attacked her.

Police said Wednesday that Officer James Comstock shot and killed 25-year-old Phillip Steven Doll on Tuesday when Doll lunged at officers investigating a 911 call that someone had broken into the woman's home. Police have said Doll was on top of the woman when officers entered the home and lunged at them before Comstock opened fire.

Comstock is a nearly 20-year-veteran of the Tulsa Police Department and is on administrative leave with pay while the shooting is investigated.

Police say the woman was shaken — but not seriously injured.

Doll had been identified on Monday as a person of interest in an earlier Tulsa homicide.
