Tulsa Help Agency Prepares for Sequestration Cuts

File Photo-Tulsa Area United Way

A Tulsa group that provides early childhood and pre-k programs is prepared should federal sequestration cutbacks impact its’ funding. Executive Director of Community Action Project, Steven Dow, says while federal Headstart dollars are important to the programs…there are other funding sources, including state pre-k and Oklahoma early childhood program dollars, the United Way and the George Kaiser Family Foundation.

Dow says there shouldn’t be any impact on services in the near term, but what might happen with future federal funding is a question mark right now.
