Tulsa Councilors to Make Important Capital Improvements Decisions Tonight

Tgov

After Tulsa City Councilors make some decisions at tonight’s meeting about how to proceed, you get a chance for input into plans for an $818-million capital improvements package. One issue that needs to be decided, whether to divert $60 million in sales taxes to public safety. Task Force Chairman G.T. Bynum says the decision will let people know whether the former 4-to-fix county tax will be part of the capital plan or will be diverted to fund public safety, as the mayor proposes. A series of public hearings will then be held across the city in July. It appears councilors have decided on one election in November with separate questions…one about street funding and another for capital projects.
