Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council approved Mayor Dewey Bartlett's proposed budget Thursday. However, before doing so, they voted to add certain items back to the budget. Those items include restoring all highway lights, reducing firefighter pay cuts and putting the 2 Tulsa Police Department helicopters back in the air. Mayor Bartlett says his $550,000,000 budget is already stretched thin and he believes additions will create problems later. Councilors proposed several ways of transferring money into the budget to pay for the new items, including an increase in utility and sewer fees.
