Tulsa, OK –
The Tulsa School board tonight will be asked to take initials steps toward shedding the district of over 200- school teachers.

The action is necessary to balance the school district's budget. It is unknown how many, if any, teachers will be laid off or if the gap can be filled by non-renewed contracts and attrition.

Funding for the district has already been slashed by seven million dollars this year and is expected to be trimmed by 10-to-15-million next year.
