By Rich Fisher

Tulsa, Oklahoma – Summertime doesn't officially arrive until June 21st, but we're still very glad to welcome our old friend Nancy Pearl back to the program. Now based in the Seattle area and formerly a citizen of Tulsa, Nancy is a retired librarian, bestselling author, and longtime bibliophile who's been chatting with us (every now again) about worthwhile books for many years now. This time, she's got a list of Can't Miss Summer Reading Recommendations. Here are all the titles that she described to our host Rich Fisher:

Frank Baker. "Miss Hargreaves" (Bloomsbury USA)

S.J. Bolton. "Blood Harvest" (Minotaur Books)

Justin Cronin. "The Passage" (Ballantine Books)

Guy Gavriel Kay. "Under Heaven" (Roc Hardcover)

Emma Larkin. "Finding George Orwell in Burma" and "Everything Is Broken: A Tale of Catastrophe in Burma" (Penguin)

Emily St. John Mandel. "Last Night in Montreal" and "The Singer's Gun" (Unbridled Books)

Nathaniel Philbrick. "The Last Stand: Custer, Sitting Bull, and the Battle of the Little Big Horn" (Viking)

Helen Simonson. "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand" (Random House)

Karl Marlantes. "Matterhorn" (Atlantic Monthly Press)

Tatjana Soli. "The Lotus Eaters" (St. Martin's Press)
