Study Shows Positive Results at Tulsa Juvenile Bureau

A study shows Tulsa County doing far better than the national average at keeping juveniles from repeat offending and winding up back before a judge. Director of the Juvenile Bureau, Brent Wolfe, says the study took a look at every probation case that had been closed over a two year period, and then followed each case out for two years beyond the closing date. It shows only a 6.5% rate of repeat offenders here.

Wolfe says that compares to a 20% national recidivism rate. He says the bureau creates individual plans for every family and child in the system. He believes that’s a main reason why the rate of relapse is so low.
