By Deadline: December 2, 2009
ON PUBLIC RADIO 89.5 HD1 – StudioTulsa's 2009 Autumnal Haiku Writing Contest has begun.
Three lines, seventeen syllables - 5, 7, 5 - you know the formula, and maybe you even recall reading them back in high school or college, but can you craft a compelling haiku or two of your own?
Taking our cue from a recent on-air rumination by our longtime commentator Connie Cronley, StudioTulsa announces its 2009 Autumnal Haiku Writing Contest.
Pencils ready? Here are the specifics.
Simply e-mail your original haiku to studiotulsa@publicradiotulsa.org, and be sure to put "haiku" in the subject line. (No more than three haikus per person, please.) Submit your haiku here.
The contest ends in one month - on December 2, 2009 - and there's no fee to participate. There will be public-radio-themed prizes for our 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place recipients, and a few of the winning poems might even be read during a StudioTulsa broadcast. Ms. Cronley herself, along with a few Public Radio Tulsa staffers, will select the winners.
