Storms Pound Western Oklahoma

Oklahoma City, OK – Storms roll across Oklahoma, knock out power

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Nearly 4,000 power outages are reported most in Enid after strong storms with high winds moved into Oklahoma.

No injuries were reported early Friday as a result of the storm.

Oklahoma Gas and Electric reported on its website 3,441 outages in Enid where the National Weather Service said a wind gust of about 80 miles per hour was recorded at Vance Air Force Base. OG&E reported another 457 outages in Deer Creek in north-central Oklahoma.

The weather service said the storm is moving northeastward out of the state.
