Storm Kills Three in Nowata County
Strong storms and straight line winds associated with a cold front bring damage to parts of Northeast Oklahoma. The Nowata County Sheriff's office says three people were killed when winds destroyed a mobile home. We are being told the victims are grandparents and an infant.
Here are the bullet points on other storm reports:
· The Will Rogers Turnpike has reopened after semis were blown over near Big Cabin.
· Winds were clocked at over 60 mph near Miami
· Strong winds have knocked out power to over 11,000 customers in Tulsa County. PSO reports 18K out, system wide.
· Strong winds are whipping fires near Sperry and Collinsville.
· Temps are dropping rapidly as the front passes. Temps dropped from 101 at 4PM to 76 at 6PM in Tulsa.
· Severe Thunderstorm watch till 10PM
