Storm Damage

By KWGS News/AP

Fort Cobb, OK – Minor structural damage reported near Okla. lake

FORT COBB, Okla. (AP) Authorities say they've found minor structural damage but no injuries from a tornado that moved through Caddo County in central Oklahoma.

Emergency Management Director Larry McDuffey said there were no immediate reports of injuries when a tornado touched down on the southwest side of Fort Cobb Lake near Oklahoma Highway 9 late Monday afternoon.

McDuffey says the tornado ripped shingles off the roofs of some houses, overturned a few utility trailers and tore up irrigation pipe in farm fields. He said power poles also were toppled in the storm.

Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives spokesman Sid Sperry says 700 to 800 customers lost electric power when the storm hit a substation in the Caddo County area, but officials expected service to be quickly restored.
