Oklahoma City, OK – Transportation director to discuss needs

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley plans to reveal the long-term needs of state roads and bridges.

Ridley is scheduled to address members of the Oklahoma ROADS Task Force Wednesday. The task force is comprised of lawmakers as well as city and county officials and other groups interested in transportation improvements.

Besides needs, Ridley also will discuss the status of Oklahoma's federal transportation funding as well as federal economic stimulus dollars and their potential affect on next year's state budget.

Officials with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority also will discuss turnpike performance and funding needs. The Oklahoma Municipal League will identify the long-term needs of city roads and bridges as well as improvements funded by federal stimulus money.
