Sequestration Furloughs Impacting Oklahomans

KWGS News File Photo

The sequestration is impacting Oklahoma. Labor Commissioner Mark Castello announced today that the Tulsa Labor Office would be closing because of a cut in federal funding. Their lay-offs are immediate.

Meanwhile, early lay-off notices that were sent out because of sequestration to Oklahoma National Guard technicians are being recalled.

Guard Lt. Col. Max Moss says a continuing funding resolution means the sequestration furloughs will be delayed. If the notices go back out, they’ll go back to all 1,086 federal technicians for the Oklahoma Guard. The Guard is waiting to hear back from the Pentagon.
