Police, firefighters, and safety officials talk school zone enforcement

By KWGS

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa area students are heading back to class and motorcycle cops and patrol units are watching the school zones again .

Back to class means strict enforcement of laws governing traffic zones around Tulsa area schools. Police Department motorcycle unit supervisor Sargeant Paul Melchoir says a ticket in a school zone will be booked straight to court with no warnings issued

Melchoir also reminds drivers there are fewer crossing guards working in Tulsa this year, so it's very important to be cautious in school zones.
