School Gun Amendment Proposed

KWGS/State House

As a gun measure makes its way through the state legislature, an Oklahoma Representative is offering an amendment. House Bill-1602 would allow teachers and administrators to carry guns into schools.

Oklahoma City Democrat Mike Shelton doesn’t care for the bill. He concedes, however, it most likely will pass.  His amendment would give parents an option.

MIKE SHELTON: ”It will allow parents to get a voucher to get out of that school, if the school district allows teachers and administrators to carry guns in their schools.”

Shelton says he doesn’t want his kids in a classroom with guns.  He says introducing guns into a school is no way to solve the violence problem.
