Santa Arrives in Tulsa

Santa steps out of a helicopter that brought him to the mall.

The weekend before "Black Friday", the grand old man of the North Pole arrives in Tulsa for a parade at Tulsa's Promenade Mall.

A bright yellow helicopter touched down on a blocked  mall entrance, just feet away from busy 41st Street. On the ground, waiting for Mr. Claus, was members of the Akdar Shrine.

The Shiners drove Claus, also known professionally as St-Nicholas,  through the packed mall parking lots in a funny car. He was escorted by clowns on bicycles and Shriners in mini-cars.  Thousands of kids, parents and grandparents lined the curb waiting to see the elderly Claus pass by and to wish him a Merry Christmas.
