Revenue Up for Oklahoma

Oklahoma City, OK – Report shows Okla. revenues continue to climb

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State finance officials say collections to Oklahoma's general revenue fund continue to outpace both last year's collections and the official state estimate.

Office of State Finance Director Preston Doerflinger said Monday that March collections this year exceeded March 2010 collections by more than $37 million. Collections also outpaced the official estimate by $42 million.

Doerflinger reported all major categories of tax collections increased in March this year over the same month last year. He says he's particularly pleased with sales tax revenues, because those receipts are a strong indicator of economic activity.

Sales taxes were up more than 11 percent from March 2010 and exceeded the official estimate by nearly 4 percent.
