Oklahoma City, OK – OKC Republican elected to fill state Senate seat
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A 32-year-old Republican from Oklahoma City has won a special election to fill a state Senate seat vacated by the new lieutenant governor.
In a special election Tuesday, Greg Treat beat four other GOP candidates seeking the District 47 seat that had been held by Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb. No Democrats filed for the election, so a Senate spokeswoman said Treat will take office as early as Jan 19.
Others who sought the post were 46-year-old Todd Brawley and 49-year-old Carol Hefner, both of Edmond, and two other Oklahoma City residents 63-year-old Steven Dobbs and 41-year-old Kenny Goza. The district covers parts of northwest Oklahoma City and Edmond.
