Inola, OK – Repair work is underway on the Newt-Graham lock and dam at the McClellan-Kerr waterway. The lock is located about five miles southwest of Inola.

The work is being done by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. The Corp hosted elected officials and the media on a tour of the repair work, which is essentially shut down barge traffic in and out of the Tulsa Port of Catoosa.

The lock is dammed at both ends and then drained so that workers can get into the river to do the renovations. The repair work is expected to take about two week.
