McAlester, OK – Officials investigate 2nd inmate death
McALESTER, Okla. (AP) Prison officials are investigating a second death of an inmate at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.
Officials say 45-year-old Kenneth Gore died Monday night after guards found him beaten and lying on the floor of his cell.
Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says Gore's cellmate, 24-year-old Aaron Prado, is considered the suspect.
Gore's death is the second at the maximum-security prison in two days. In an unrelated incident, 23--year-old Blake Ford died Monday after fighting with his cellmate Sunday afternoon.
Massie says Ford's cellmate, 23-year-old Jeremy Lyons, is suspected in Ford's death.
