Public Safety Group Has Recommendations for Tulsa City Leaders

KWGS

A special task force has recommendations to improve the gathering of tips to help solve crimes. The public safety intelligence group formed after the murders of four women at Fairmont Terrace. Chairman G.T. Bynum says a major finding of the group is that an upgrade of the system used to process tips and other intelligence is sorely needed. The current system was put in place in 1976.

The upgrade would be costly, but Bynum believes it’s needed. A list of about a half dozen recommendations will be presented to the City Council’s Public Safety Committee Thursday.
