Tulsa, Oklahoma – On our program today, we speak with Heather Jack, founder and president of The Volunteer Family, Inc. (which is a Boston-based nonprofit that promotes and coordinates volunteering activities for children, students, and families nationwide), and with Kathryn Hillis, a junior at Tulsa's Booker T. Washington High School and a member of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (which works to teach philanthropy, leadership, self-knowledge, and community-building to teenagers throughout Tulsa). Both participated in a "Teen Volunteer Revolution" summit that was held on Friday of last week (the 8th) at the OU-Tulsa Learning Center --- and both join us on StudioTulsa to talk about teen volunteerism in general as well as finding and/or generating meaningful volunteer opportunities for Tulsa-area teens in particular. Also on our show today: Connie Cronley has a commentary reminding us that April is National Poetry Month. (By the way, you can learn more about the recent "Teen Volunteer Revolution" summit by visiting http://revtulsa.com.)
