Sapulpa, OK – Special prosecutor named in ex-judge's case

SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) Payne County District Attorney Tom Lee says he will be special prosecutor in the stalking case against a former district judge who was convicted in 2006 of indecent exposure for using a sexual device while presiding over trials.

Lee told the Tulsa World that the attorney general appointed him to the case against former Judge Donald Thompson.

The 64-year-old Thompson was arrested March 3 in Sapulpa on allegations he stalked a woman who previously had a protective order against him. Thompson said he was watching as the woman spoke with a police officer to see what police were doing with her.

Defense attorney Rob Nigh said he was not aware of Lee's appointment and declined further comment.

Thompson has not been charged. Lee said Tuesday that he's waiting for a report on the arrest.
