TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Two brothers accused in the fatal shootings of four women at a Tulsa apartment make their first formal court appearance since prosecutors charged them with first-degree murder.

A judge on Friday entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of James Poore and set an April 2 preliminary hearing date. Poore and his brother, Cedric Poore, are both charged in the Jan. 7 deaths of 23-year-old twins Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor, 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 55-year-old Julie Jackson.

Also Friday, a judge appointed a public defender for Cedric Poore and delayed his arraignment until March 1. Both brothers appeared in court Friday via closed-circuit television from the Tulsa County jail.

Prosecutors have yet to decide if they'll seek the death penalty.
