Tulsa, OK – A Tulsa television icon has passed. Carl Bartholomew, who entertained Tulsa children from the late 60s until the 1990s as TV's "Uncle Zeb" died early this morning. He was 78.

Bartholomew started the "Uncle Zeb Cartoon Camp " on KTUL in 1967. He was the promotion director at the TV station and was responsible for the "Eight's the Place" promotional campaign of the 1970s.

In 1991, the show moved to cable, He retired from playing Uncle Zeb in 1998.
