Parents Want Immersion School Relocated
By KWGS News
Some Tulsa parents want answers about the Dual Language Immersion program at the Monroe Demonstration School. Parents say they were told the immersion school would be relocating to a more centralized location, but are now being told that won’t happen.
Parent Michelle Gray went to the school board last night. She says Monroe isn’t a safe environment for the immersion program students. She says it is unsafe to have pre-schoolers in the same common facility as 8th graders.
The Tulsa Public Schools has told the parents it cannot afford to open a school site for 125-students.
The board listened to her comments, but made no statements following her address. Superintendent Ballard was not at last night's meeting.
