LOCUST GROVE, Okla. (AP) Severe thunderstorms rolled across Oklahoma for a second straight night and authorities say one person has been killed.

Mayes County Emergency Management Director Johnny Janzen said Wednesday that the death was in southern Mayes County southeast of Locust Grove. Janzen said several homes were also destroyed by the late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning storm.

Meteorologist Brad McGavock with the National Weather Service in Tulsa said radar has estimated the wind speeds at 70 to 80 miles per hour. McGavock said initial indications are that there was no tornado.
