Konawa, OK – Oklahoma woman who overdosed on drug identified

KONAWA, Okla. (AP) Authorities have identified a woman who died after they say she overdosed on a hallucinogenic drug.

Seminole County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Todd Hignite says Anatasia "Stacy" Marie Jewell of Ada died Saturday after being taken to a Seminole hospital.

Authorities found eight people ranging in age from 19 to their early 20s suffering from severe drug toxicity at Konawa residence. An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman identified the drug as 2C-E, which is similar to ecstasy.

The other seven were sent to nearby hospitals and three remained hospitalized Monday.

District Attorney Chris Ross says Cody Weddle, who was arrested in connection with the overdoses, was arraigned Monday on a probable cause affidavit and denied bail.

Weddle's attorney didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment Monday afternoon.
