OSU-Tulsa Donation

Tulsa, OK – Foundation donates $250,000 to Oklahoma St. center

TULSA, Okla. (AP) The parent company of Public Service Company has donated $250,000 to Oklahoma State University-Tulsa to purchase equipment for use by researchers in the Helmerich Research Center.

OSU-Tulsa officials say the gift is from Columbus, Ohio-based American Electric Power Foundation on behalf of PSO.

OSU-Tulsa President Howard Barnett says the money is the first private donation made directly to support the Helmerich Research Center since Walter and Peggy Helmerich donated $9 million to enhance and support the facility when it was built.

The center houses laboratories for faculty and graduate students whose research will focus on technology development areas, including nanotechnology, biosciences, energy and aerospace.
