Okla.homa Supreme Court Tosses results of Tulsa House Race

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Supreme Court has thrown out the results of a race for a House seat in Tulsa that was originally won by three votes.

Monday's decision by the state's highest court means the House District 71 seat in central Tulsa will remain vacant until November.

The justices voted 8-0 to invalidate the results of the election and wrote in a one-page order that "the election is void." Justice John Reif earlier Monday recused himself from the case. A reason was not given, but Reif is from Tulsa where the election was held.

Initial returns from the April 3 election showed Democrat Dan Arthrell with a three-vote lead over Republican Katie Henke. Henke requested a manual recount that found her the winner by one vote.
