Oklahoma City, OK – High court lets stand ruling on Okla. strip search

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A federal appeals court ruling that a strip search of a woman in Le Flore County violated her constitutional rights is being allowed to stand.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined without comment to hear an appeal of the ruling that Lorri Myers' rights were violated by the search.

The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last year that jailer Loretta James improperly required Myers to strip for a search after she was arrested for public intoxication.

Myers was released a few hours after her arrest and was never charged.
