OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma behavioral health rehabilitation specialist has been charged with three counts of Medicaid fraud and one count of identity theft.
Attorney General Scott Pruitt's office says 35-year-old Shenice Lavon Huff of Midwest City was arrested Friday. Huff already faces embezzlement charges in Oklahoma County from her previous employment with the City of Spencer.
Huff is accused of billing Medicaid in excess of $20,000 for services not rendered. An investigation revealed that Huff posed as a member of the teaching staff at a day care center providing her day care services free of charge. In this position, she was able to obtain numerous children's SoonerCare ID's and billed Medicaid for counseling those children. Investigators say the children never received counseling.
Huff faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted.
