Oklahoma Lottery Panel hires Longtime State Official

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Lottery Commission has selected long-time state official Rollo Redburn as the agency's new executive director.

Five of the board's seven members met Tuesday and voted 5-0 to hire Redburn at an annual salary of $140,000.

Redburn is a 29-year employee of the Office of State Finance and helped launch the lottery after it was approved by Oklahoma voters in 2004. He served previously as the commission's director of administration and became interim director after James Scroggins resigned in March.

Scroggins was the Oklahoma Lottery Commission' s first director and left after seven years at the agency to become chief financial officer of the Illinois State Lottery.

Oklahoma Lottery Commissioner William Paul headed a three-member search committee and says the agency received about a dozen applicants for the post.
